Bright Quilted Contemporary Wall Hanging – “Building Blocks”
An original piece by Cindy Grisdela Art Quilts. Click on “Visit My Shop” to see current works.
“Building Blocks” is a cheerful contemporary wall quilt perfect for a small space. The central block motif with primary colors reminded me of the Lego blocks my sons played with when they were small–that’s where the name came from.
Size: 22″ h x 18″ w
Machine quilted with a variety of motifs–pebbles, fans, and spirals– using complementary variegated thread.
I stitch all of my quilts freehand on a domestic sewing machine–there’s no computer or marking, just me drawing the designs in my head with my needle and thread.
This piece has a red background and is mounted on stretcher bars with a wire on the back for easy hanging like a picture.
Fabrics are 100% cotton batik.
Dust or vacuum gently, or use a lint roller to clean.
Avoid hanging in direct sunlight.
