Description

Encaustic and oil of a large horse getting out of a river.  Inspired by my time working at a horse ranch in Arizona where I swam horses for their therapy and exercise.

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using a heated encaustic medium to which colored pigments have been added for creating artworks. Molten medium is applied to a surface—usually prepared wood, and then fixed with a hot gun.

I have been professionally painting for over 30 years.  I’ve had numerous art publishers (Martin Lawrence Galleries,  John Szoke Art Publisher, Galerie-F, and Liberty Puzzles).   I paint watercolors, silk and enjoy encaustics as well as drawing and sketching.   I am originally from Los Angeles and now live in Cornwall, NY.   My website is:  https://www.LinneaPergola.com
