Possibly a warping paddle (for setting up a warp to dress a weaving loom), this handcrafted tool is made of a single piece of solid wood, with a sturdy handle and two rows of holes on the long paddle. It measures 18″ in length and 2.25″ across the paddle. The holes are pretty evenly spaced, though they are clearly hand-whittled, handmade. A nice warm coloration to the wood. The handle end is a little uneven, probably just due to the fact that there is a knot in the wood at that spot. Some overall age, some surface wear. 19th century.
