Circa last quarter of the 1800s, a wonderful box with a striking chromolithographed portrait of a young Victorian lady in her winter-wear on the lid. Really great details on her outfit, accessories, and jewelry. A decorative metallic border is partially intact, along the perimeter. Bright yellow interior. Possibly a chocolates or special confectioneries box, presented at Christmas-time. The box exhibits plentiful age and wear, and, gives interesting clues as to its construction along a damaged section on one side. Measures 7.25″x3.75″x1.5″.
