A marvelous uncommon needle holder or etui, marked Made in France. Circa 1920s. A cylindrical 2-part construction with the cap shaped and hand-painted with a flapper’s face, hair, and jewelry. Threaded to twist open and closed, there is a cavity inside for storing needles. Marked Made in France (plus an additional less legible mark) on the bottom (please let me know if you would like to see a photo, it was a little tricky to grab a good one to show tone-on-tone letters on a small area). Measures 3″ in length. The material is from the Bakelite era; probably another composite. There is some overall age/surface wear, with some partial paint loss to the face/hair details. Comes with nice old large-eye needles, as shown.
