Germany
“Usually, handmade manufacturing starts in a family. When the father makes the product, his son will watch him from aside. As the kid grows up and develops an interest in handmade crafts, he will take over the business from his father,” said Philipp. “It takes time to be a handmade master; that’s why the scale of the company is limited to a few people.”
Germany’s dual education system ensures that a number of talented students work in the manufacturing industry. After graduation from primary school, some students will continue their education through middle and high school, while others will go to a special school, where they learn manufacturing skills and complete internships in factories. Thanks to this, there will be more beautiful handmade crafts in Germany for generations to come.
