Report an abuse for product Afghanistan- Antique Silver Prayer Box Pendant, Item 10
5″ long, 2″ wide
Metric: 12.25 cm. long x 5.5 cm wide
This piece is an antique prayer box which would have held a blessing or a piece of the Koran and thus served as an amulet.
Estimated age: 75-100 years old.
Shipping is free on this piece worldwide.
Completely hand constructed, the pendant is Pashtun, Afghanistan’s largest minority group which includes the Kuchi, so beloved by belly dancers. Originally it would have been attached to clothing or hair, but contemporary wearers would most likely use it as a pendant.
The cylindrical box has a hand stamped leaf design on both sides. Look at the photos closely as one side is punctured. The chains are all hand made as well.
