These boho style shoulder strap bags were handwoven by artisans native to the Peruvian Amazon, with natural and durable chambira palm fiber. They are useful for carrying a laptop to a coffee shop, shopping in a outdoor market or toting your towel, good book and suntan lotion to the beach. This traditional crochet stitch bag is available in two color combinations, and both feature the symbol of the Ocaina vulture clan in the Peruvian Amazon. One is yellow, black and brown, has a shoulder strap that is 1.25″ by 39″, and the other is green, natural ivory chambira color, black and yellow and its strap is 1″ by 40″. Both are made by an artisan from the Nueva Esperanza artisan collective.
A tag lists the artisan’s name and community and the plants they used to make it. Please note that each handmade bag may vary from the photo shown.
