Description

The is a rooster hand painted in underglaze before the first firing. After that a clear glaze is added to the outside and the inside was glazed blue. It has a hole in the rooster and a matching plaid tray with eggs on it for drainage. It is 5 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches across. The opening is 3 inches in diameter. The matching plate is 7 inches in diameter. I have shown one photo with a soda can to give you an idea of the size.

This style of animal is made from a slab of clay and then rolled into a cylinder. A bottom is attached and then I alter it to form the body pushing out the sides and the lip of the vase. A face and sometimes tails are added. Some pieces have underglaze hand painted on the outside for detail and are clear glazed while others just get coated in colored glaze. I like them to be whimsical and fun so I tend to play loose with shapes and colors. No one piece is ever exactly like the next, so they are all original and one of a kind.

I believe in recycling all of my packaging materials as to save on waste. What is inside the box is really pretty but the outside might be a box and packing paper I have received from someone else. I try and double box all of my pieces as much as possible for protection so they will also be heavier than normal. Since everything I create is one of a kind, I try and keep it as safe as I can while it is traveling to its new home.
