This small hand-carved wooden comb is a thing of beauty intended for everyday use. Carved from solid walnut or apricot by Tajik master carver Sodiq Zaripov, this comb reflects traditional Tajik ornamental patterns and a carving tradition that spans generations. The unique decoration carved on each comb makes each one a “one-of-a-kind” treasure. Like all the combs carved by Master Sodiq, a fifth generation woodcarver, this comb was awarded the UNESCO Seal of Excellence for Handicrafts. Master Sodiq’s combs are famous throughout Central Asia. Approximately 3 1/2″ to 4″ long, the walnut comb is traditionally considered best for dry hair and the apricot comb is considered best for oily hair. Care: Clean periodically with alcohol and then rub with olive oil to restore natural oils.
