Description

This is a yorkie plate in terra-cotta clay with a green background. It is made from a slab of clay, the yorkie face is added and the rest of the body painted in underglaze. Then after the first firing a clear glaze is put over the entire piece for the final firing making it food safe. It could be used for trinkets, change, jewelry, food or just for display. It measures 1 1/4 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter.

These animal plates and bowls are made by rolling a slab of clay and forming them into plates and bowls. The faces are cut out of clay and added to give them dimension. Once it is dry it is all hand painted with underglaze before it goes through the first firing. Then it is covered in clear glaze and fired again. All of my pieces are made by and and are one of a kind, flaws and all. Even if I were to remake the same piece, it would not be exact so you are getting something that will not be duplicated.

I believe in recycling all of my packaging materials as to save on waste. What is inside the box is really pretty but the outside might be a box and packing paper I have received from someone else. I try and double box all of my pieces as much as possible for protection so they will also be heavier than normal. Since everything I create is one of a kind, I try and keep it as safe as I can while it is traveling to its new home.
