Colorful Glass, Fiber, and Mosaic Art in Colorado at Nestle & Soar Studio
I opened the Nestle & Soar Studio ten years ago as a creative healing experience. As a life-long maker and creative, I believe that there is personal development and growth in every creative process. Quietly making beautiful objects fills my soul. I’m grateful you’ve found my studio and are reading my story.
I named my studio after my love of trees and birds. I think about bird nests and the four seasons of trees in my home state of Colorado. Many trees, birds, natural vistas, and bright colors are part of my design work. I also like the way the word NESTLE feels like being comfy at home. And soaring! Yes, I do feel like I’m soaring when I am making art. Have you ever experienced that feeling?
An exciting NEW series in my studio is the Creative Kids Club Kits! These kits help children and their beloved adults to explore the world of STEAM arts & crafts. That means that in addition to making fun projects together, kids are also learning about science, technology, engineering, art, and math! I’ve packaged each kit with the quality art supplies needed to make the easy-to-follow projects. This makes these kits easy as a gift for grandparents, aunts or uncles, daycare providers, and homeschooling folks. Order a kit on behalf of your child and I’ll mail it to the adult of your choice in the U.S. That way, the next time your child is with a beloved caregiver, lovely memories can be made with each art project!
All of the items in my Etsy shop are limited edition or even one-of-a-kind. I hand-stitch my fiber art and use a tweezer to individually place tiles in my mosaics. The glass art I make can include 4 separate kiln firings! With these detailed techniques, each item is unique, and every item takes hours of crafting. Nothing is mass-produced or created by a shop helper. My fingerprints are on everything I sell!
I do encourage custom orders! Let me know what special occasion needs a unique item from you! I ship to addresses within the U.S. If you live outside the U.S., please give me the opportunity to price a delivery for you.
Handmade items have variations. The photos in my shop are meant to honestly represent the colors and textures of each item. Holding the finished item in your hands is a different way to see it. Slight ripples, bubbles, or bumps can be expected in hand-crafted items. I believe they add to the overall charm of each piece. I feel pride in the products I list from my shop and I hope you’ll feel pride in buying them for yourself or giving them to someone special.
If you have any questions about your finished item, I’m happy to talk to you. Please reach out to me through my shop on Etsy.
A quick note about the materials used in my art:
The fiber art items I create and sell are not designed for machine washing. Wool fibers shrink dramatically in water. Hand needle-felting is a delicate way to apply fibers to other textiles. Please know that my fiber art items are works of art and are not meant as bed linens or toys. I hope you’ll cherish them as much as I do.
The mosaic items I make and sell are grouted and sealed for durability:
Grout is a cement-based, sanded substance that secures each tile to the vessel, tray, or other forms. I seal each grouted item to increase its durability. That said, they are not meant to be submerged in water, washed in the dishwasher, or kept outside in freezing temps or pouring rain. I have placed my mosaic planters in the Indoor Planter section of Etsy for this reason.
When you order anything from Nestle & Soar Studio, I include detailed owner’s info for the artwork. I wrap each item carefully and use no plastic or foam packing materials for shipping. It’s important to me that your purchase is a thrill to receive and use!
Best wishes,
