Description

Small handbag or pouch, exterior is cotton fabric printed with real oak leaves on a blue/green/yellow hand-painted background. One side is bordered with brown fabrics with bark-like patterns. A touch of hand-painted tulle and green glitter add pizzazz. Strap is stitched in a leafy pattern. Zipper closure.

Hand wash, line dry.

Bag measures approximately 6 x 5.5 x 1 inch. Strap slips over the wrist.

I have been quilting since 1986. I started my own business, Doughty Designs, in 1991 and have been creating commissioned work ever since. My specialty is pictorial quilting, although I have created a broad range of work from bed quilts to wall hangings, postcard size to queen size, traditional to abstract, and wearables. I teach and lecture on various aspects of quilting. From 2006 – 2014 I was Studio Art Quilt Associates’ (SAQA) website coordinator, and regional co-representative for Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina 2002 – 2006. Since 2017, I have been a volunteer docent at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Renwick Gallery.
