Description
The is a koala mug or soup bowl, hand painted in underglaze before the first firing. After that a clear glaze is added to the outside and the inside was glazed brown. The inside is completed glazed so it is food and water safe. It is 4 1/4 inches tall and 4 inches across, not including the handle. The opening is 3 3/4 inches in diameter. I have shown one photo with a soda can to give you an idea of the size.
For some of my mugs or soup bowls, I throw the body or “bowl” first on the wheel. Some I build by hand. Most pieces are hand painted in underglaze for added detail and are clear glazed while others might have detail on the outside and the inside is a colored glaze. I like them to be whimsical and fun so I tend to play loose with shapes and colors. No one piece is ever exactly like the next, so they are all original and one of a kind.
People like mugs and soup bowls of all different sizes so I make a variety. In one photo I have it shown with a soda can for reference. In another it will be in my hand. Please check the size and dimensions so you are not surprised when you receive your piece by the size.
I believe in recycling all of my packaging materials as to save on waste. What is inside the box is really pretty but the outside might be a box and packing paper I have received from someone else. Since everything I create is one of a kind, I try and keep it as safe as I can while it is traveling to its new home.
