Description
Definitely a necklace men as well as women can wear.
20-23″ adjustable necklace with Ghana brass mask pendant and Baule brass openwork beads. Ghana Krobo powdered glass beads. Ethiopian brass spacer beads. Wood spacers, brass clasp, extender chain and findings.
The pendant and openwork brass beads are made by the lost wax process and every one is unique. The metal beads are made by the Baule people who are in Ghana and neighboring areas. The Krobo glass powder bead patterns imitate the trade beads imported into Africa from Venice. The bone beads are made both in Kenya and Ghana. Similar beads are made in many parts of Asia.
Tribal and ethnic style necklaces are definitely a major trend. They are colorful and definitely their history and production is an interesting story. Unlike any necklace anywhere else.
