Description
The fibers in this necklace began as a cloud of hand-dyed pink silk tussah. The artist made them into silk paper, and free-hand cut rectangular pieces. All those pieces were machine-stitched with various metallic threads, to make them sturdy enough for carefree wear. For the necklace, the artist twisted two colors of thick metallic/rayon thread to form a cord with a bit of sparkle. The result is an 88-inch long circle that can be looped into an almost infinite number of variations.
