Description
Dyed with a mix of osage and cochineal to create a soft peach, this silk wrap is woven by fair trade weavers near the east coast of India. There is an inlaid design throughout the wrap that creates texture. Silk yarn is inlaid into the weft on the loom, creating a raised line on the fabric. The silk is made from silkworms who feed on wild mulberry leaves. The higher tanin content in the leaves makes a honey colored silk. The tanin gives a deeper shade of peach.
Looks great with ivory, beige and navy. Wear it to a spring or summer wedding to accent your fashion.
After dyeing the wrap was neutralized in a vinegar bath and washed three times. Very easy to care, can be machine washed on delicate cycle. Colorfast. Hang to dry, and iron if desired. The more it is washed, the softer the silk shawl becomes. The dye is colorfast.
Lightweight, travel friendly, and great for the spring, summer, and cruises.
