This style of prayer beads have been made in Ethiopia for a long, long time. Older ones tend to be heavier and finished with more care. Two halves are joined together to make a hollow bead. I believe these are silver plated tin, but could not find information that confirmed that for sure. Each strand has a yarn tassel attached to a focal bead. These beads are much like Catholic Rosary Beads, used by Christians in Ethiopia. There are 68 beads in a strand.
Length: About 28″
Bead size: 1cm long, 8mm diameter
