Loki is the wily trickster god of Norse mythology.
Loki has been described as a strange alluring frightening figure, who is unreliable, moody, teasingly, and a cunning trickster, but also intelligent and sly. He has mastered the art of shapeshifting, some sort of magic, which gives him the ability to shapeshift into anything, into any living creature he wants.
A member of the Aesir tribe of deities, Loki—along with Odin, Thor, and Freya—constituted one of the four ruling deities of Norse thought. Though his mythology consistently overlapped with those of his divine counterparts, Loki differed from them in important ways. Where Thor, Freya, and even Odin strove to impose a righteous order amongst the gods, Loki’s erratic behavior called the very nature of his allegiances into question. For example, it was predicted that during Ragnarök Loki would fight on the side of the jötnar against the gods.

Bone and wood were the most affordable raw materials used to carve and design ornate pieces and a common feature among Viking jewelry was animal designs taken from nature & Norse mythology. Bone jewelry was common among Viking men and women.

Care: do not wet, and wear with pleasure.

Good shopping.

Roman and Oksana live in Ukraine and love Viking culture and design! Roman carves amulets, knife handles and accessories from bone, antlers and horn, all shed naturally by the animals. Oksana takes care of the marketing and of running their shop on Etsy.

From Roman:
“My art is an integral part of my life. I do bone carving, mostly Viking style. In general, I can carve anything, but not all carving brings me pleasure and inspiration. The Viking history interests me and inspires me. I have been carving for more than 15 years and have sold my work to people in many different countries. I am very happy that I can share my art and my products far beyond my own country. Each new design in anything I make is a challenge. I love everything about my work. I never do anything I don’t like.”
