Description

This is an encaustic and oil of 2 puffins floating on ice in front of a calving glacier.  I was in Alaska the end of 2021 and we took a boat out to see the glacier and it was calving right when we got there.

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using a heated encaustic medium(wax and varnish) to which colored pigments have been added for creating artworks.  I then apply the molten medium to a prepared wooden board and heat it with a hot gun to fix it.

I have been professionally painting for over 30 years.  I’ve had numerous art publishers (Martin Lawrence Galleries,  John Szoke Art Publisher, Galerie-F, and Liberty Puzzles).   I paint watercolors, silk and enjoy encaustics as well as drawing and sketching.   I am originally from Los Angeles and now live in Cornwall, NY.   My website is:  https://www.LinneaPergola.com
