Description

Weave-in Crochet Natural Silk Scarf — ‘Autumnal Poetry’

The falling leaves, the cooler breeze.. let me take you on a walk through the forest when it’s getting ready for the evening of the year — softer sounds, warmer colors. ~~~

The scarf is crocheted of one-ply hand dyed silk yarn and colorful recycled sari silk. Sari silk is weaved into the crocheted fabric from upper side only. The technique displays the sari silk in all its beauty. And the weaved in stitches look a little like encrypted words of a hidden poem — poem about the colors of autumn. The scarf is super soft and very pleasant next to skin. Same time it is also very warm.

The scarf is approx. 150 cm (~60 inches) long and 16 cm (~6.3 inches) wide.

All items in this shop are my original design and made entirely and exclusively by me.

A small sachet of dried lavender (organically grown in my garden) will accompany the crocheted item you purchase. Please let me know if you do not like lavender.

Please bear in mind, that even though I try to keep the tones on the photos as close to the original as it is possible — they still might differ a bit from real life due to monitor settings etc.

Tija lives in Latvia and says:

“Seeing colours, feeling textures, painting with fiber — all that makes me feel alive. Tapestry crochet has become my passion. Within it, I can unite all forms of creativity I have loved and learned since my childhood. After graduating from art school, where I learned academic painting and drawing, I studied textile arts. And now I paint my wearable tapestries using the crochet hook as a brush and all kinds of fibers, yarns and threads. -Tija”
