Botanique Quilt – Crisp Geometrics of Favorite Fabrics

This is an example of a quilt that was listed on my Bluegrass Quilts Etsy shop.  Most quilts listed in my shop are those I have made in the past, and have since sold.  Customers are able to choose from my listed patterns, then customize their order by choosing their preferred colors and styles of fabric from which their quilt is made.   This pattern was written by Joel Dewberry, and I applied my own color combinations to create a warm palette with a Boho feel.

Description

This handmade modern colorful twin size quilt measures 71 x 89 inches, considered extra long, is pieced in bright modern colorful floral and geometric print fabrics, all 100% high quality cottons. Quilted all over in a swirl and hook pattern, this quilt offers crisp geometrics as the vibrant fabrics in your favorite colors are framed in window shaped borders of crisp white.

HOW ITS MADE

The top layer of the quilt is sewn together, piece by piece, on my Bernina machine. Colors and fabric designs are carefully chosen and coordinated prior to cutting and stitching. Creating the quilt top is typically the longest part of the process.

The middle layer is hidden, inside the top and bottom layer, and is a soft layer of batting made of premium cotton or cotton/poly (80/20).

The bottom or back layer of the quilt is made of only one fabric, which is a lovely print that coordinates with the top.

All three layers are sandwiched together, then carefully quilted in an all over pattern for the quickest result.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

All quilts can be machine washed in cold water, and machine dried, and touched up with an iron if desired. With each wash, the quilt will become softer. This particular quilt has been prewashed.
