Geometric silk art quilt – minimal style

We are two sisters who are textile artists sharing a studio in Spain, Desedamas. We use silk remnants which we paint and create textiles suitable for home and office décor. This is an example of work we have had in our Etsy shop in the past. Click the Visit our Shop button below to see what we have in stock now.

Contemporary wall hanging textile art. It is created using different types of silk that we dye, paint, bleach … and then free motion quilting to give it texture. We give a second life to “leftover” silks from the textile industry
The wall hanging does not need framing and comes ready to hang, as it has a fabric sleeve on the back to be able to pass a wooden bar and hang it on the wall. The bar is not included.
DESEDAMAS art quits are made by hand, from the dyeing of the silk to the final stitch. There may be some little difference between the color on your screen and the actual color, due to the color settings of each screen.

To keep the tapestry clean, it can be vacuumed from time to time. It can be washed by hand, in cold water, with a textile mild soap. Do not twist or soak. Remove excess water by rolling it up in a towel. Let dry flat. For any questions you can contact us. If you prefer that we wash it for you, contact us. Dry cleaning is not recommended. You can see our video on Youtube where we show how to wash silk.

If you like this piece, but it does not fit in your space, contact us, we can work on request.

DESEDAMAS promotes the reduction of solid waste, the reduction of environmental pollution and the circular economy.
We are Artisan Masters and we have our atelier in Barcelona. Our Art quilts are inspired by colors and light of the Mediterranean Sea.

We are two sisters sharing a studio in Barcelona, Spain. We came from different areas professionally. Cecília, a Technical Draughtswoman, worked as a Purchasing Manager. Mercè, Chemical Engineer, in the Department of the Environment. In 2000, we decided to make a living from our passion. We started with silk crafts an in 2006 began to paint silk for textiles. Uniting these two skills, silk painting and textile art, opened to us an immense field in which to experiment. Our expertise has led us to teaching workshops and we have a Youtube channel with tutorials. Our shop on Etsy focuses on our wall art and we have a shop on our website with accessories. Visit both! and We do accept commissions. Don’t hesitate to contact us.
