Description
This beautiful unique and standing out necklace has an ancient Roman artefact: bronze brooch bird with enamel in the middle from 4-5th centuries AD.

Oscine meaning
nIn Ancient Rome birds generally were divided in 3 groups: alites, oscines and sacred. The alites referred to birds of prey, such as eagles and vultures, which gave signs by their manner of flying. The oscines were singing birds, which comes from from Latin oscen, meaning “a songbird”. There were also birds standing for particular gods, and which appearance was an omen of good or evil.

Necklace with history
nElena bought this bronze artefact from a private collector, restored and cleaned it without any damage to its original look. Then she added a copper wire to secure it to a metal string. Natural light and deep green jade split by genuine copper beads became a nice frame for this pendant that emphasize the clolour and shape of the Roman historical artefact.
